1-30-2007: It's been a while since I've made some updates to this page, and I seriously hope that the progress I've been making on Dreaming god has been worth the wait.  I now have a great art department on board, which is Jerry Clement and Erika Radcliffe.  Both are exceptional artists in their respective styles, and have great imagination which will lend itself to the overall design of this film.  Also, I would like to welcome Janie Albinger aboard, who will be working on costume for the project.  I am very close to finalizing the screenplay.  I know that this script has been now in the writing stages for three years, but I promise you that the work that has gone into this script has made me believe even more in this project than I ever thought possible.  I've had so many delays, mostly having to do with employment issues, that horrible retail thing, that I've shelved the project many times.  Now that I have a script that I truly love and believe in, I want to make every effort to get the ball rolling on this project.  I've asked Stryles Knight to come back to the project, and hopefully he chooses to do so as soon as he overcomes a few personal challenges.  This is the year that significant progress will be made on an amazing independent film.  I am happy that you are along for the ride.

2-27-2006: Dark Perceptions Entertainment has decided to part ways with Mr. Fletcher due to his inability to understand and work well with other people.  The novel is coming along great, nearly a hundred pages now. . .and the second draft is coming along fine as well.  More later.

1-30-2006:  Sorry for any lack of update for the last five months, It just gets crazy when you work retail through the holiday season.  So things are now chugging along again, albeit slowly.  I am working on the second draft of the screenplay, and also I am writing a movie novelization to go with it.  Hopefully the art department will be giving me some stuff in the next few weeks, and I may be looking to bring addtional artists onboard for that purpose.  I have also been looking at music for the film and have created a mock soundtrack of songs that I listen to while I am writing.  It's a primarliy prog music and I am hoping to get a few of those songs into the film, mainly Dream Theater's Lifting Shadows off a Dream.  I have a couple ideas for original music too, an accoustic guitar piece by Bryan Moon, and there's another girl who I have just come into contact with who has a fabulous voice at only 18 years old!!  She writes her own material and is in my opinion, very talented.  I want to get recordings of some original sound effects to accompany the movie, particularly where the Apparition is concerned.  More Later, we're back on the horse for the year, and things are going to start happening, It's the year of the Dog, and my Chinese Zodiac says I am a dog!!  Lucky me, but more importantly I say lucky you.

8-1-2005:  The pre-production crew of Dreaming god seems to have a lot on our plate at the moment.  The second draft of the screenplay is coming along quite nicely, being written in conjuction with a novelization to accompany the film's release.  There is also interest in a graphic novel to be drawn by our conceptual artist, Jerry Clement.  This is an exciting time as the first draft of the screenplay has gotten some very good feedback from some people who are known to be somewhat tough critics in my local area.  They can't wait to see the 2nd draft and see how the story becomes more streamlined.  Progress on the novel is also amazing, giving the characters greater depth than ever before.  I feel as if 2006 will be the year for Dreaming god.

5/23/2005 - The good news is that the first draft of the script is the basis for the novel and comic book we are working on to fund the film.  The bad news is that we have to shave 60 pages from the first draft to make the film fit in a two  hour space.  This week has been slow in the pre-production of the film, due to the Star Wars release.  Many of us on the crew are big Star Wars fans, and have been to see the new film a few times.  But this isn't the Star Wars site, this is the Dreaming god site.  In the plus column, I have commisioned a friend of mine to write some original accoustic guitar music to be included in the film.  One of the pieces was so tender and beautiful that it almost made me cry.  I can't wait for the final version of the film and get to share my vision with the whole world.  Stay tuned

5/17/2005 - The first draft of the script is finished and have been looking at potential actors for the parts.  The first draft weighed in at 183 pages, so I am going to have to figure out how to trim about 60 pages from this.  The second draft will attempt to draw the dialogue together better, saying more with fewer words.  I have met with a few young actresses, one of whom I am very impressed with.  I will reveal her when I have looked at the rest of the young actresses, and pick who I would like to pick.  My company is also in talks to produce a comic book and a novel based on the screenplay to take to comic cons as a fundraising effort for the film.  Jerry is a talented young artist and is excited to pursue a comic book project surrounding some of his previz art.  On another note, we have parted ways with Stryles Knight over scheduling and creative differences.  Also, we have begun looking at locations for some shoots.  This is a project that I want to get the whole community behind, as a matter of taking some pride in where I live.  More Later

1-19-05:  Well, our hiatus is over.  Such is life working retail at Christmas time, I held 3 jobs for a while and worked about 85 hours a week.  Anyone who knows holiday retail knows that it begins toward the beginning of September and runs well into January.  But enough of the holdays, and back to the world of Dreaming god.  I am working on FINALLY finishing the script (I mean it this time) and getting everyone back together, with a few changes to our personnel.  Last night I saw an amateur film, Open Water, and it inspired me all over again.  They shot that film on DV as we are, and their film was visually fantastic, so it gives me hope for mine.  More Later.

8/4/04: Sorry for lack of updates, I have had little time to devote to this project lately as the demands of employment have kept me very busy.  Now that I have dumped one of the three jobs I had, I hope to have more time to contribute to this again.  I am very behind schedule, and still have no script completion.  I had orginally wanted to start casting this month, and shooting in October, but these things will be pushed back.  I hope to have the script now completed by the middle of September, check back with me soon.

6/26/04:  FIRST DRAFT NEARING COMPLETION!!! (Whew)  Let me tell you what a challenge writing a screenplay for this project has been.  I work two jobs to pay my bills and to finance this project, and I have children and a girlfriend that also require some of my time, and do not own my own computer so I have to schedule time to use the public word processor at the public library in two hour blocks.  Needless to say, my time is very full at the moment, and soon I will have finished a first draft of  Dreaming god.  I can't wait to sit and show it to a few people who have agreed to look at it, including a local author/screenwriter, Steven Barnes, who recently released a new Star Wars novel called, The Cestus Deception. Our crew will spend about a week going over the first draft and we will take notes on the changes that are to be made, mostly in dialogue I am anticipating, as I am very fond of the story the way it is now.  By the end of July I hope to have a final script complete and have a few locations scouted out as well.  In late August or early September I want to begin casting my film and shooting sometime in October on weekends.  It's going to be a wild ride, glad everyone is taking it with me.

6/15/2004:  We have added some new characters to the cast list, feel free to check them out if you would like to.

6/14/2004:  We have just added our E-Newsletter Subscription, but we need a title for the newsletter.  This is where all you fans come in and help us out.  In the next 30 days, we will be taking submissions for the new name of the E-Newsletter for Dreaming god.  The winner will be announced on 14th of July when our first issue of the Newsletter should be sent.

6/11/2004:  Sorry for the lack of updates as of recently as we have been immersed in the world of scriptwriting and character design.  The script has just reached about 60 pages, as I am only getting to work on it only a few hours a week.  Jerry has been drawing designs for characters and Stryles has been working on some technical specs for production.  Some location scouting will begin next month, and hope to have script completion by the end of July.

5/24/2004:  Work on the script is coming along nicely, were right on target for a late June first draft completion.  The details of the story are coming together more nicely than one could imagine, after about five pages, the script began to write itself.  We are now living in the mind of Tuesday Moxley, we are feeling the pain she feels, we are suffering the visions she is suffering.  We are now feeling the base emotions that Megan Moxley feels, that need to be on another plane of existance, to defy reality.  We are now rationalizing the way Dr. Theodore Nathaniel Hayes does, our evils weighed against a greater evil, to achieve the ends of good in our own mind.  We feel the anguish of a young mother, who loses her child, and a friend who is there to support her.  We also feel the thoughts of the school children, who criticize Tuesday with intense fear and hatred.  There is nothing greater than when you know your characters well enough that the story begins to write itself.  Soon we should have images to accompany our words.  Peace.

5/10/2004:  We now have a conceptual / storyboard artist who has committed  to over 1,500 drawings for this project.  Jerry Clement has officially joined Dark Perceptions Enterprises.  Jerry has been drawing since he was very young, has a wide range of art styles and operates an independent tattoo business. Soon, we should have some concept drawings posted here on the site.  Stay tuned.

5/5/2004:  Happy Cinco De Mayo to all, I am a little tired today, stayed up until 7:30 am working out some of the details of a crucial scene in Dreaming god.  Making sure that our beginning, middle and end of the story are all something that are working in perfect marriage with one another.  I am very excited about this scene, and I can't wait to shoot it.  Moreover, I cannot wait for you to see it.  There is a specific shock value attached to said scene that at first glance may seem over gratuitous, but it does lend credibility to the story.
